I have started loading the first room in my nobori. Here are some pictures of the very beginning. This room will have kohiki and some black glazed work. I have been loading for a couple of weeks. One major problem is it has been about 0 C. the whole time and after working for about 1 hour I have to take a break and warm up.
I am getting a project ready for Kickstarter. It is based on the tiles I made for a memorial last year, a project I cancelled. The new version has a working title ‘History of these tiles’. I will glaze the tiles white and then fire Edo and Meiji period photographs onto the tile using a decal process. I am getting the images from T. Enami.org from which I have gotten permission to use the images. I am looking at a launch about the middle of next month. It is exciting to have an idea for the tiles. If anyone has input into any aspect including a title please fire away.
